BUSINESS BUDDIE OF UNICEF
We are making a remarkable and important contribution to UNICEF's Business Buddies project. Kroon-Oil is a member of the so-called 'UNICEF Business Buddies'. Together with other companies involved, we contribute to innovative and impactful programmes in Madagascar and the Ivory Coast. Together we are committed to sustainably improving the lives of children.
Plastic Bricks Project
During our research into more sustainable packaging, we came into contact with UNICEF's wonderful 'Plastic Bricks project'. This equally sustainable project ensures that litter is actively collected in Ivory Coast, among other places, in order to turn it into plastic bricks that are used to build classrooms in areas where this is badly needed. With the partnership, we want to contribute to this wonderful and important UNICEF project.

Build a Plastic Bricks school

Plastic bricks as a solution
Supporting the 'Plastic Bricks' project not only promotes education in Côte d'Ivoire, but also works towards a better environment. After all, Côte d'Ivoire has a huge waste problem. Capital city Abidjan produces 288,000 kilos of plastic waste every day. UNICEF has some of this recycled into plastic building blocks, which are used to build school classrooms. Currently, 1.6 million children in Côte d'Ivoire do not attend school. Through our donation of an entire classroom, we can give some of these children the chance to receive an education.
By linking up with UNICEF's 'Plastic Bricks project', we are literally contributing a brick to solving the plastic waste problem while also supporting children's futures.
